Eligible Improvements
The DOER Z-Loan may be used for qualifying energy efficiency and electrification projects identified through an approved Home Energy Assessment, including:
- Heat pumps
- Heat pump water heaters
- Insulation improvements
- Air sealing and weatherization measures
- Certain weatherization barriers, including electrical upgrades and remediation work required before efficiency improvements can be complete
How the Program Works
Step 1: Complete a Home Energy Assessment
A qualifying Home Energy Assessment (HEA) must be completed before applying for financing. Based on information provided by the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources.
Step 2: Obtain Contractor Quotes
Work with a licensed contractor to receive estimates for the recommended improvements. Based on information provided by the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources.
Step 3: Apply for Financing
